After completing a two-day-long Portable Appliance Testing course Adrian and Jake successfully obtained their City and Guilds certification which gave them extensive knowledge and practical experience with testing a wide variety of PAT kit.
Every year we undergo a strict PAT test which ensures all the electrical equipment we are using onsite is safe and reliable to work with. The equipment is tested and either passed or failed based on a range of variables such as earth continuity, lead polarity, and insulation resistance checks. This course made sure we were fully compliant with any regulations regarding the testing process. Our new PAT testing kit has also arrived meaning we'll be performing our annual performance & safety checks in house. With our City and Guilds qualification, it also renders us viable to check kit outside of the Cypher workplace.
We're also preparing for a Financial Services Tax Leaders Conference being held in Amsterdam midway through June. We're taking our standard crew of 24 general and specialist technicians. This conference is slightly shorter than our usual but more intense and hands-on.
On top of this, we've decided to upgrade some of our kit, next in line are our laptops. Our clients often hire out a number of laptops for use at events to run breakout sessions, workshops, plenary sessions and run various plasma screens we use throughout the venue. We consider it best practise to get rid of our older kit and make room for newer, more up-to-date tech. Next week we'll be putting our current laptops through rigorous testing to see if they're still good enough to come on-site with us.
