The Cypher team have been making the most of the brief summer downtime we get due to the holidays. Take a look at what we've been up to as we prepare for a hectic few months!
Dharmesh has been working on several important projects. Earlier on in the summer break he refactored our registration component, enhancing its export functionalities and performing a general code refactor to improve performance and security. He also prepared this years’ Global Transfer Pricing Conference and Global Tax Symposium websites. He has also been busy completing various web pages and templates for one of our long-standing pharmaceutical clients. Dharmesh has also been putting some hours into our very own Cypher Media website, working on giving it a newer, fresher look using current web trends and improving both the front and back-end functionality.
Currently, he is more focused on migrating Cypher Media’s very own POD (Programmable Onsite Display) timetable system from CodeIgniter to Laravel, aiming to improve its overall efficiency and modernise its architecture. He is also keeping multiple WordPress websites up-to-date with the latest versions and plugins to ensure they remain secure and performant.
Stuart, out videographer/editor, has been focusing on the production of a series of informational videos designed to showcase the key features of a new app launched by one of our long-standing clients. Given that the client offers different versions of the software tailored to various aspects of their business, Stuart was tasked with creating a versatile video template. This template needed to be easily adaptable to explain, advertise, and highlight the distinct elements of each version of the app. As of August 2024, we have successfully completed five separate versions of these videos, with more in the pipeline as the client continues to expand their offerings. The videos are a dynamic combination of graphics, footage, text, and recorded software demonstrations, all carefully crafted to adhere to the client’s strict brand guidelines.
We have also been industriously occupied with a variety of other administrative tasks, dedicating significant time to performing annual maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep on all of our equipment, ensuring everything is in optimal working condition. Recently, we also completed our annual PAT (Portable Appliance Testing), meticulously checking all of our electronics to ensure they are safe for onsite use, in compliance with safety standards.
On top of that, we have been selling off older equipment that is no longer considered industry standard. This has not only helped declutter our storage but also made room for newer, more advanced kit that meets the latest industry requirements.
Looking ahead, we have begun preparing for future events, with planning and logistics extending as far as January 2025. We're excited for a busy final quarter!
